Thea J is a branding package and label design I made for a clients pyjama line.

Thea J is a local, hand-made, small batch pyjama company in Vancouver, BC, that sells a wide range of luxury products. All of their products are made local here in Vancouver, by small batch, hand made manufacturing to create delicately crafted products to suite all different body types.

The goal behind Thea J is to create products that allow individuals to feel beautiful and comfortable.

Keywords: Hand-made, Small Batch, Women Empowerment, Natural, Comfort.

Moodboard & Logo Conceptual Stage:

For the logo design and overall aesthetic we wanted to go a west coast feel. My client wanted to use a painting she had as reference for the colours and overall feeling for the Thea J brand (shown above on mood board). We wanted the branding to have a calm, fresh, and organic feel which reflects the brand identity.

The J's final first round of logo variations (below) I wanted to incorporate nature elements to each logo to convey a strong emphasis on the natural and coastal feel. I also incorporated a few secondary logo with a heavier typeface to better gauge what my client prefers.

For the second round of logo variations my client chose the particular fonts and designs she liked the most. I curated many options for them to choose from and refined some of the first variation designs.

Final Logo Design:

Thea J's final logos (below) is a logotype made from Acme Gothic Light, an emblem of original illustrations and Acme Gothic Light font, and a word mark made from Acme Gothic Light font. They are minimal and comparable creating parallel through all logos created.

Typography:

For all titles and headings, Acme Gothic Light will be used. Acme Gothic (2018) is based on the thick and thin gothic lettering style popular in the U.S. in the first half of the twentieth century. Acme Gothic Light is a sans serif display font that is sleek and sophisticated making it perfect for Thea J's titles and headings.

Trade Gothic Next LT Pro Light will be used for all of Thea J's sub headers and body copy text. Trade Gothic Next is a soft rounded font family that’s friendly and easily legible.

Colour Palette:

This colour palette was chosen to represent a west coast feel; the calming colours of the ocean and surrounding environment. All of the brand's packaging and content is meant to be clean, simple, feminine, and calming.

Label Design:

For the clothing label design the artboards’s are 2cm x 4cm with white background and black text. All labels have the same deliverables with varying sizes adhering to the clients request.

Pattern Design:

Below I created three illustrated patterns for my client to use for their web design or for future tissue paper designs. I created the illustrations in mind of the coastal feel and shapes in the relative environment in the brands colour palette.
